Nerello Mascalese is one of Sicily’s primary grape varieties (for good reason too). Thriving on Mount Etna’s volcanic soils, Nerello Mascalese produces softly spicy red wines, but which are nevertheless earthy and mineral –like Syrah crossed with Pinot Noir. Expect flavours of strawberry and sour cherry, along with black pepper and smoke.
